What the Ladybird Heard – Thursday 19th May 2016

Our visiting nursery had an amazing time exploring our beautiful woodland area; making music in the style of Julia Donaldson and creating woodland homes for all the ladybirds they had found earlier on the field and in our outdoor classroom.

Walking Through the Jungle – Friday 22nd April 2016

Forest Friday was awesome this week… The group began by walking through the jungle in search of jungle animals and then the children created dens for their favourite jungle animals. One group challenged themselves to create a free standing den using a tripod – truly wonderful! Enjoy our photos and see if you can work out which den was for a tiger and contrastingly which den is for a jungle spider!

Walking Through the Jungle – Friday 22nd April 2016

Following the drama and den building activities outside, crafty fun continued inside our beautiful school where the children created jungle animals using clay and paints as well as explored making animal patterns using a range of mark making materials. Additionally everyone made a parrot’s nest out of cornflakes and chocolate to take home. A wonderful afternoon!

Where The Wild Things Are – Friday 15th April 2016

Lots of drama and action in our beautiful woodland today including a ‘wild rumpus’! The children loved all the movement, drama and music making!

Where The Wild Things Are – Friday 15th April 2016

The rain did not stop play… Back inside the children made ‘Wild Things’ from clay; they particularly enjoyed using the tools to create patterns. Additionally, the children loved cutting and creating fruit kebabs!

Lots of fun was had exploring the story tray and continuous provision areas in the classroom.
